The Kimblewick Bit from Eldonian applies pressure to the horses poll and lips to allow the rider to gain more control when needed. It has a similar curb action to a Pelham bit, however the shorter shanks provide less leverage action and it doesn't require a double set of reins.
The port mouthpiece gives space for the tongue, making it a more comfortable bit for horses and ponies with fleshier mouths.
